Senate Bill 0171, also known as the Ink of Hope Act, has been introduced to the state senate with the aim of training tattoo artists to recognize signs of human trafficking. If passed, the bill would mandate that tattoo operators and artists complete training courses to help identify potential victims of human trafficking.

Tattoo artists would not be the only professionals involved in this effort. Barbers and hairstylists have also been trained by law enforcement to spot possible trafficking victims for several years.
