Brianna Chickenfry is standing firm when it comes to her matching tattoo with her ex, country singer Zach Bryan. The two, who shared their love through music, social media, and ink, have now gone their separate ways, but the tattoo remains.
Zach Bryan and Brianna Chickenfry were together from May 2023 to October 2024. Zach confirmed the breakup in an Instagram story, saying, “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time, and for that, I’ll always thank her. I’ve had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled with some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways.”
Brianna, however, was “blindsided” by the breakup. On the BFFs podcast, she opened up about the emotional toll it took. “The last year of my life has been the hardest year of my life, dealing with the abuse from this dude,” she shared. “I’m still scared right now because I’m scared of him. My brain’s rewired, and I’m scared to make him mad.”
Both Zach and Brianna are known for their tattoos, and one of the most notable is the matching “How lucky are we?” tattoo they got, inspired by Zach’s song “28.” In a recent TikTok video, Brianna addressed rumors that she might remove the tattoo following the breakup.
“One last thing,” she said, sitting in her car. “I see a lot of people saying, ‘Well, now I have to get my ‘How lucky are we’ tattoo removed.’”
Brianna clarified that the tattoo was her idea first. “That was my thing. That is my tattoo. Now we’re matching, OK? I’m not getting it removed. It’s OK. This is mine. How lucky are we? That was me.”
In the same podcast, Brianna shared that Zach got a tattoo of her just days after they spent a weekend road-tripping from Philadelphia to Oklahoma. “After that weekend, we spent three days together, and I think two or three days later, he got me tattooed on his arm,” she said, adding that Zach immediately began “love bombing” her after the trip.
