Vinicius Tobias, a former Real Madrid defender, and his ex-girlfriend Ingrid Lima recently introduced their newborn daughter, Maite, to the world.

To commemorate the occasion, Tobias had “Maite, I love you” tattooed on his arm shortly after her birth. The tattoo, which was displayed on his Instagram page and reported by The Sun, has since been removed.

What appeared to be a joyful moment quickly took a turn when a DNA test revealed that Tobias, 20, was not Maite’s biological father.

In a recent Instagram story, Lima confirmed the DNA results, explaining that the two had separated some time ago.

“I wanted to address something that’s becoming increasingly frustrating and unfortunately needs a public explanation. Vinicius and I haven’t been together for a while. During that period, both of us were in separate relationships,” she shared.

Lima went on to clarify that both she and Tobias had moved on with their lives, but agreed to take a DNA test regarding Maite’s parentage.

“We both went our separate ways. Meanwhile, Maite was born, and we decided to take a DNA test. Maite is not Vinicius’ daughter,” she confirmed.

Vinicius Tobias began his youth career at Internacional in Brazil before joining Shakhtar Donetsk in 2022. He spent the last two years on loan at Real Madrid, making one appearance for the main team during a 3-1 Copa del Rey win over Arandina and 61 appearances for Real Madrid Castilla.
