Ghanaian musician and entrepreneur Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, widely known as D-Black, is a well-known tattoo enthusiast. He has adorned his body with numerous tattoos, and in a recent interview with Kumasi-based Ultimate FM, which was monitored by MyNewsGh.com, he shared the significance of each tattoo and the thought behind them.
D-Black explained that many of his tattoos include Bible verses. “I have scriptures tattooed on my body because God is my best friend,” he stated. Among the verses he has inked are John 3:16, Isaiah 41:10, and Proverbs 3:27. He expressed his love for these verses, highlighting how they resonate with his personal life.
Additionally, D-Black mentioned other tattoos that hold special meaning for him. These include tributes to his grandmother, the Black Avenue logo, the years his daughters were born, a picture of himself with his dad on his birth date, as well as his father’s birthday and the date of his passing. He noted that while he doesn’t consider himself particularly spiritual, the tattoos serve as reminders of significant events in his life.
