The late Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, took extraordinary steps to ensure her tattoo was just right. Following the heartbreaking loss of her son, Benjamin Keough, she was devastated and chose to keep his body at home for two months after his passing.
In a revealing conversation with Oprah Winfrey, Lisa Marie’s daughter, Riley Keough, shared that her mother wanted a matching tattoo with Benjamin. Lisa Marie arranged for a tattoo artist to visit their home, where she had kept her son’s body.
Riley noted, “On paper, I could see how this sounds completely insane and absurd, but my mom was just very much herself. She wasn’t a crazy lady; she was just herself.”
The actress explained, “This was just a moment where she wanted to have a matching tattoo with him on her hand.” When the tattoo artist arrived, he asked for photos of Benjamin’s tattoo. To Riley’s astonishment, her mother replied, “No, but I can show you.”
Riley admitted, “I stayed quiet because it’s my mom, and she does what she wants, but it was one of the most absurd moments.” She recalled her mother telling the tattoo artist, “My son is here, in the back room I can show you.”
“He, god bless him, was very normal about the whole thing,” Riley added.
