Getting a tattoo is a deeply personal choice, but that doesn’t mean every design turns out well. One man has recently faced heavy criticism for his poorly executed tattoo.

Shared on social media, the tattoo, inspired by the beloved Pixar film Finding Nemo, was meant to depict the cute Clown Fish on his calf. However, the result has been described as a “nightmare.”

The tattoo was intended to show Nemo, but instead of a charming fish, the design appears unsettling. The lines are blurred, giving the fish a ghostly appearance. Nemo’s eyes are particularly eerie, with the outer areas blacked out and the centers left white, creating an unsettling look.

Additionally, Nemo’s bright red lips are poorly rendered, with smudged ink resembling smeared lipstick. The surrounding blue ink, meant to represent the ocean, looks murky and unappealing, with bubbles that fail to enhance the overall effect.

Beneath the fish, the phrase “Just keep swimming” is inscribed in a messy, uneven font.

The tattoo quickly drew criticism from viewers who compared Nemo to a zombie with cataracts rather than the endearing cartoon character. The image was posted to the Facebook group That’s It, I’m Inkshaming (Actually Bad Tattoos), where it received over 220 likes and numerous comments.

One user joked, “Poor Nemo needs to see a doctor about those cataracts. He can’t see to put on his… lipstick??” Another quipped, “Or zombie Nemo will get you,” referencing the tattoo’s attempt to echo the phrase ‘Just keep swimming.’

One comment read, “I’m horrified!” while another noted, “Now that is nightmare fuel.” A fifth person added, “Nemo has seen better days,” and someone else simply said, “That fish is broken!”
