TikTok is known for its mix of intriguing trends, from former Royal Marines defining what it means to be a “real man” to step-by-step guides on prison cooking. Among these, a new and quirky trend has emerged: using temporary tattoos on hair.

Influencer Kiersay recently showcased this unusual beauty trend on the video-sharing platform. To try this look, you first need to pull your hair back into a very tight bun using a wax stick. This creates a flat surface for applying the tattoos.

Kiersay started with a single brown horse tattoo, and it surprisingly applied smoothly without any fraying or breaking. In a follow-up video, she advised cutting the tattoo slightly larger than needed, which provides a better surface for adherence.

To apply, place a damp cloth over the temporary tattoo for 20 seconds, then slowly peel it away to reveal the design. If the tattoo isn’t fully set, reapply the damp cloth for another 20 seconds.

By the end of her tutorial, Kiersay’s hair was adorned with horses in various poses. Although she didn’t specify how long the process took, it’s clear that applying temporary tattoos to your hair might not be suitable for a quick morning routine.

The best part? According to Kiersay, the tattoos left no residue or stains after washing her hair.

This trend has captured the attention of TikTok users, with many saying they’re excited to try it themselves. One user commented, “I literally love when girls do random things; it almost always makes the world better. This is so fun.” Another said, “OMG I need to do this with Hello Kitty tattoos,” and a third added, “Crazy hair day would be wild with this lol someone tag the mamas.”

While some viewers suggested that the trend might only work on blonde hair, Kiersay theorized that lighter, metallic, or glow-in-the-dark tattoos could also achieve the look.
