Hip-hop and tattoos often go hand in hand, and Post Malone exemplifies this connection. Since his debut in 2015, the rapper has accumulated numerous tattoos, including a portrait of the late President John F. Kennedy.

Malone got the tattoo of the late president inked on his left hand in late 2016. The artwork was done at the Inked Mag headquarters in New York by the renowned tattoo artist, Victor Modefferi. The tattoo is located above his thumb and is complemented by the old logo of Anheuser-Busch Brewery.

Post Malone has always admired President John F. Kennedy. He discussed the reasons for this admiration on The Breakfast Club show on December 21, 2016. He stated that no president, other than JFK, had spoken so openly against corruption and the problems within the government.

Malone is vocal about his political views, and much of his admiration for JFK stems from these perspectives. While he has never endorsed any political candidates, he expressed in 2016 that he felt none of them were suitable for office.

During his appearance on The Breakfast Club in December 2016, Malone spoke about his aspirations for JFK and shared his thoughts on the assassination. “Literally days before he died, he was talking about how our government focuses on corruption instead of truth and all the things. There’s a great speech where he goes back and forth between the negatives and what we should be focusing on. And days after that, he died,” Malone explained.

For those unfamiliar, John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. He took office in 1961 as the youngest president and served until his assassination in 1963. Even after more than 60 years, JFK’s assassination remains shrouded in mystery.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) later confirmed that JFK’s assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, acted alone. However, the motive for the crime was never revealed, leading to numerous conspiracy theories. Time magazine published a report in 1964 that read: “The explanation of Oswald’s motive for killing President Kennedy was buried with him.”

Post Malone has often mentioned that his body is covered with tattoos of people who inspire him. The rapper was seen in a video of the inking process of the JFK tattoo in March 2017, where he mentioned that the late president was someone everyone could model their Americanism after. The video was posted on YouTube by the Bullseye Tattoo shop.

During the same 2016 interview with The Breakfast Club, Malone added that he did not vote in the past election. When jokingly asked if he would play at the winning candidate’s (Trump’s) inauguration ceremony, he said he wouldn’t mind it. At that time, he clarified that just because he did a show for someone, it did not mean he supported them.

Post Malone has over 70 tattoos and continues to get more every year. The rapper also has a tattoo of Nirvana’s lead vocalist, Kurt Cobain, on his right arm. The inking features the rock legend shredding a guitar and symbolizes Post’s love for the late grunge genius.
