Kym Marsh, known for her role as Michelle Connor, recently took to Instagram to showcase her new tattoo inspired by her latest theatre role in “101 Dalmatians The Musical.”
“Needed something to cover up an old one and this is just perfect! A great reminder of playing this iconic villain!” she wrote, sharing a photo of her new Cruella De Vil tattoo.
However, Kym issued a warning to her 616k followers considering getting a tattoo, adding, “Although… if you’re gonna have a tattoo gang… ribs are SORE!” She also apologized to her tattoo artist for swearing due to the pain.
Currently starring as the infamous Cruella in the musical, Kym performs alongside former Emmerdale star and author Jessie Elland. Reflecting on her role, she shared on BBC Morning Live in April, “She’s brilliant. It’s such an iconic role. If you’re going to play a character on stage, you want to play Cruella De Vil.”
In addition to her new tattoo, Kym has found love with co-star Samuel Thomas, whom she affectionately referred to as her “soulmate” in an Instagram post featuring a picture of them kissing. “Met the most amazing man ever!” Kym, 48, wrote, “Sometimes the most unexpected things happen at the most unexpected times.”
This new tattoo is not Kym’s first. She previously revealed a touching tribute tattoo in honor of her father, Dave, who passed away from prostate cancer in January. The tattoo, an ice cream, was inspired by Dave’s obsession with the treat following his diagnosis. Kym shared his reaction in a heartwarming video, explaining, “Since his incurable cancer diagnosis [dad] has been obsessed with ice cream! He literally has one every day! So I got an ice cream on the inside of my forearm to remind me of my wonderful dad every time I look at it! He’s the best ever! Love you, dad.”
