Paul Baxter, a tattoo artist from Wolverhampton, shared one of his latest creations on social media, only for the video to go viral – but not for the reasons he might have hoped.
At the beginning of the video, Paul could be seen holding up a design on paper that his client had requested, with a stencil placed on the back of the client’s neck. The black and white tattoo featured a seductive blonde woman sucking her index finger, along with a snake whose jaw was wide open and tongue sticking out.
After completing the tattoo, Paul proudly showcased the “before and after” transformation on his client, who already had other tattoos. While the design looked pretty close to what the client had asked for, it seems Paul may have missed one crucial detail during the process.
As the clip rapidly gained traction with nearly 510k views within 24 hours, hundreds of sharp-eyed social media users flooded the comments section to point out a glaring mistake.
Eagle-eyed TikTok users noticed that the printed design in the video had three small dots on the right side of the image – the kind you typically see on a phone screen to access options like sharing or deleting a file. It appears that Paul, in his enthusiasm, may have accidentally included this detail from the screenshot into the tattoo design.
“Help, not you including three dots from the screenshot on the tattoo,” one user wrote, a comment that received over 4,000 likes.
“No way he included the 3 dots to share image,” another person wrote, still in disbelief.
“Good thing he can’t see it,” someone joked.
While some users found humor in the blunder, others continued to poke fun at the tattoo. “I’m gonna lie – it looks great!” a fourth person added, while another called the neck tattoo a “red flag.”
However, not everyone was critical. A few users defended Paul, saying that the design matched the stencil perfectly, and blamed the client for choosing such an idea.
“To be fair, the drawing is exactly like how it was in the stencil. I think the one to blame is the client for having the idea,” one viewer said.
As of now, Paul, who frequently showcases his tattoos on his social media, has not responded to the growing wave of online criticism.
