Andi Eigenmann recently took to social media to share the heartfelt meaning behind her new palm leaf tattoo.
In an Instagram post, Andi revealed that the tattoo is a tribute to her late mother, Jaclyn Jose, just days before the first anniversary of her passing.
“Finally got my palm leaf in honor of my nanay (mother), just days before her 1st death anniversary. It holds multiple meanings, all relating to the different facets of her being that I also hope to embody,” she shared.
The former actress explained that the tattoo represents Jaclyn’s strength, calling it the “most admirable thing” about her mother. She also linked it to Jaclyn’s career, symbolizing victory and success as a veteran actress.
“Growing up was special, seeing her constantly refine her craft and always strive for excellence in doing what she loved most. Her dedication to perfecting her art showed her passion. What a privilege it was to have this incredible woman as my mother,” she added.
Andi went on to say that the tattoo also symbolizes eternal life, a reminder that her mother will “always and forever live” within her. Reflecting on her grief, she shared how she’s found peace in honoring Jaclyn’s memory.
“In almost one year of mourning her loss, I often found myself lost in thought, trying to figure out the best way to honor her. Recently, I’ve realized that the best way is to appreciate the life she gave me—the greatest gift—and to continue cherishing it by living it the best way I know how. Just as she would always want me to,” Andi wrote.
“As grief transforms me, I want to carry the parts of her that I admire, along with the parts of me she always loved. This journey has been long, difficult, and at times, dark. But I trust that the love she gave me will be enough to guide me back into the light,” she concluded.
Jaclyn Jose passed away on March 2, 2024, due to myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack.
