The body modification world is in mourning following the unexpected death of renowned artist Gattoo Moreno. As the news spreads, high-profile artists and fans alike have been expressing their deep sadness and paying tribute to his legacy.
A statement confirming Moreno’s passing was shared on his official Instagram page on Monday, accompanied by a black ribbon in his honor. The post, which was written in Spanish, conveyed the heartbreak of the body mod community.
“Today, the world has lost an exceptional human being,” the message read. “Our beloved Gattoo Moreno has left this world, leaving behind an immense void in our hearts and in the entire body mod community.”
The statement continued to highlight Moreno’s renowned status in the world of body modification, particularly for his innovative work with split tongues and subdermal implants. While the exact cause of his death remains unclear, his impact on the field was undeniable.
“Gattoo was not only an internationally acclaimed artist, known for his talent and passion for body modification, but also a generous and authentic soul, deeply committed to his art and to every person who had the privilege of meeting him,” the tribute emphasized.
Body modification legend Anthony “Black Alien” Loffredo shared a heartfelt tribute, posting a photo with Moreno and expressing his admiration for the late artist’s contributions to the field.
“I congratulate you for taking body modification to such an incredible level. You will always be a part of me, more than just a friend,” Loffredo wrote. “You made my project a dream. I will never forget you—rest in peace, brother.”
Michel “Human Satan” Praddo, another prominent figure in the body modification community, also spoke out, recalling his experiences working with Moreno while listening to classical music. He urged those speculating about the cause of death to focus on sending positive energy and support to Moreno’s family and friends instead.
“If you want to do something, pray, send good energy, wish something good for him, his family, and friends. That’s enough!” Praddo said.
