A mother of two has opened up about the judgment she faces due to her extensive tattoos, which cover nearly her entire body, from head to toe. She claims that strangers on the street often pull their children closer when they see her and stare at her ink-covered appearance.

Kyla, a self-proclaimed tattoo enthusiast, has invested approximately $330,000 [£240,095] in tattoos, covering about 90% of her skin. Despite her and her partner’s love for her ink, Kyla acknowledges the harsh criticism she receives. She has been called a “circus freak,” kicked out of restaurants, and even accused of being an unfit parent because of her looks.

In an interview with Truly TV on YouTube, the Illinois-based mum explained that she grew up in a conservative Mormon household where self-expression through appearance was discouraged. “It was very conservative, strict, so I wasn’t allowed to do a lot of things I wanted growing up,” she shared. As an adult, Kyla embraced the freedom to experiment with her appearance, including tattoos, piercings, and tooth jewels, and hasn’t looked back.

Kyla now gets tattooed as frequently as twice a week. “I never in my life pictured that I would be this heavily tattooed,” she admitted. Her partner, Vampiro, shares her passion for body art and is also heavily inked.

However, the couple frequently encounters prejudice. “We’ve been kicked out of restaurants for having face tattoos,” Kyla said, adding, “Before I even open my mouth, people assume we’re bad parents. But we’re actually very normal, just like everybody else.”

While she faces judgment in person, Kyla revealed that the harshest reactions often come from online comments. “The most common comment I see is, ‘You were so beautiful until you ruined yourself with tattoos,’” she said. Despite this negativity, she remains unfazed, explaining, “None of that stuff bothers me – it’s not for attention. I just like the way I look.”

Reactions on social media to Kyla’s story have been mixed. Some critics questioned her parenting, with comments like, “What type of example are you setting?” and “I feel sorry for her kids.” Others expressed outright disapproval, calling her decisions “stupid.”

On the other hand, many defended her and praised her individuality. One commenter said, “Tattoos don’t make you a bad parent.” Another wrote, “Tattooed and pierced people are some of the most incredible individuals I’ve ever met.”

Others applauded her confidence and appearance. “She is absolutely gorgeous with or without tattoos,” one YouTube user commented, while another added, “I never doubted she’s a good parent.”

Kyla’s story highlights how societal perceptions of parenting and personal expression often clash, but her resilience and love for her family remain unwavering.
