Joe Jonas, known for his many visible tattoos, has now shared a secret one that has been hidden from the public for some time.
In a video posted on social media, the 35-year-old father of two gave fans a sneak peek of a SpongeBob tattoo on his inner thigh, which he had been concealing under his bathrobe.
Fans quickly reacted to the reveal, particularly drawn to the bold placement. One fan commented, “He’s such a freakin’ tease.” Another added, “Of all the SpongeBob tattoos he could have gotten, that one is definitely the best LOL.”
A few fans also connected the moment to some ongoing drama surrounding his younger brother, Nick Jonas. One user remarked, “They’ve already started damage control for the ‘take us to the year 3000’ thing.” This refers to the backlash Nick has faced after engaging in a friendly exchange with Elon Musk on social media. Musk had shared a post referring to an article from Tesla Owners Silicon Valley, which claimed Tesla’s profits had “doubled” since President-elect Donald Trump’s victory in the 2016 election. Musk responded to the article with a GIF of the Jonas Brothers, prompting Nick to reply with the lyric “Take us to the Year 3000” along with a picture of Musk.
Fans expressed disappointment, with one writing, “We’re not just gonna move on from this. To stay silent during the election cycle and then tweet something like this? I’ve been a fan since 2005, and I was excited for a 20-year anniversary tour, but I just can’t support this.”
Neither Joe nor Nick have commented on the political controversy, but Joe appears to be focused on his solo career. He has recently taken creative risks, experimenting with new genres. As part of the announcement for his upcoming solo album Music for People Who Believe in Love, Jonas collaborated with Colombian artist Eli Taubert on the Spanish-language single “¿Cómo Pasó?”
