Will Smith has expressed his admiration for Ed Sheeran’s Fresh Prince of Bel-Air tattoo after discovering the pop star’s inked tribute to the iconic TV show.
The moment was shared in a video Smith posted on Instagram. In the clip, Sheeran explains, “My first ever Philly gig I got that,” referring to the Fresh Prince logo tattooed on his arm. Smith responds with enthusiasm, saying, “That is fantastic. That is crazy.”
In the caption of his post, Will Smith also mentioned that Russell Crowe has a similar tattoo, although Crowe has yet to disclose its location on his body.
“Yoo @teddysphotos that ink is CRAZY!” Smith wrote, adding, “@russellcrowe said he has one too. But he wouldn’t tell me where it was.”
Smith, who recently revived the summer box office with Bad Boys: Ride or Die, saw the film exceed expectations by grossing $100 million globally on its opening weekend, well above the projected $40-$50 million. This made it the biggest R-rated opening since Oppenheimer last summer.
In June, Smith released his first Christian/gospel single, “You Can Make It,” in collaboration with Fridayy and the Sunday Service Choir. He later performed the song at the 2024 BET Awards.
“I was really talking to myself,” Smith said about the song, which he co-wrote. “To see so many people resonate with the intention gives me a clear North Star for this next chapter of my creative life.”
